I opened Balanced Pilates Studio in 2013 with just a few pieces of equipment and a big vision: to share my love of movement through the Pilates method. My journey began with weight training, where I focused on building strength—but struggled with flexibility. Years of lifting, field hockey, snowboarding, and mountain biking left me tight and imbalanced—until I found Pilates. It became the perfect solution, combining strength, flexibility, and control, and now I’m passionate about helping others discover the same.

As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and Certified Athletic Trainer with over 25 years of experience in the medical field, I bring clinical expertise and a deep understanding of anatomy and movement to every session. My Pilates instruction is grounded in proper biomechanics, injury prevention, and safe, functional movement. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or simply working toward better alignment, I provide personalized guidance tailored to your body’s needs.

You’ll receive hands-on corrections, detailed postural feedback, and education about how and why we move the way we do. I encourage questions and emphasize body awareness to help you get the most from each session.

Whether your goal is to build strength, improve posture, increase flexibility, or feel more confident in your movement, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you.

My love for body movement evolved at an early age.  Fortunately, I began dancing at age 5 with a passion that steadily progressed to a 7-day discipline.  Pilates became a staple for my daily routine and eventually became the root of my future endeavors.

Flexibility may be natural for a few…but not for me.  I struggled for years with flexibility as a dancer.  I admired the dancers with long limbs and endless flexibility that gently flowed through movements.  Not for me, I had to quickly figure out ways to gain flexibility for my body to achieve the level of performance that could accompany my fellow dancers.  I began studying the work of Joseph Pilates and incorporated his philosophies and practices into my conditioning routine.  Dramatic improvements in my flexibility began to happen.  I started to love how I felt!

Years later I became a Certified Pilates Trainer through the PhysicalMind Institute and began training clients of all fitness levels and intentions.  Some were for injury prevention, post-surgery rehabilitation, athletes looking to enhance their performance, and people interested in improving overall wellness.  Whatever the intent, I loved seeing people feel good about how their bodies felt.

Being an educator, I recognize that we are always learning and improving.  I started practicing Ashtanga Yoga daily.  The poses aligned beautifully with pilates.  I was fortunate to study under a yoga and pilates mentor who was trained in Thailand and learned many Thai Bodywork techniques.  I had so much more to offer….

Today….I love how I have incorporated so many blends of bodywork and healing arts to create a unique experience for people.   Each person’s body has different intentions and limitations and I strive to design a program based upon one’s own individual needs.
